Finding
You The Best Deals for Proticall |
Proticall works by affecting the nervous system of
the insect, resulting in its death once placed on the animal's skin.
This product is easy to apply and offers dual control repealing
and killing adult fleas and ticks, at the same time safe to use
on dogs and puppies starting at 4 weeks of age and older with full
coverage within 24 hours in average after the first application,
although you can see results in the first 6 hours for dogs weighing
less than 33 pounds.
The active ingredient of Proticall is permethrin,
a proficient insecticide with residual action belonging to the group
of pyrethrins. The pyrethrins originally were developed from the
Chrysanthemum plant, then processed as synthetic forms to offer
more stability and potency than the natural pyrethrins. Permethrin
is one of these synthetic parasiticides which are able to repel
various species of ticks even before they have a chance to attack
your pet.
Remember that, for full effectiveness, this product
must be applied to the skin, not to the hair. Proticall is available
without a prescription but generally is safer if it is administered
under the supervision and guidance of your veterinarian because,
as with must drugs, this medication may cause side effects in some
animals such as vomiting, diarrhea, incoordination, increased excitability,
or seizures, redness of the skin, itchiness, rash, hair discoloration
or hair loss at site of application. Some dogs may experience lethargy
or drooling in which cases you must contact your veterinarian and
bathe the dog immediately. Proticall never should be used in animals
with known hypersensitivity or allergy to pyrethrins and must to
be applied in geriatric, very sick, weak, or debilitated dogs.
Additionally, you must consult your veterinarian before
using Proticall on dogs with liver, heart, or kidney disease and
before use with pregnant or nursing dogs. The product must not be
applied more than once every 7 days, although the general recommendations
says it is enough once a month. Also, avoid this product as it contaminates
the environment and is toxic to aquatic life, store it at room temperature
and keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children
and pets.
