Interceptor Flavor Tabs Prevent Heartworm Disease, Control Adult Hookworm Infection, and Remove and Control Adult Roundworms and Whipworms

As pet owners we all want to protect our dogs or puppies from contracting heartworm disease, hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. Interceptor For Dogs is one of the best products on the market to prevent our best friends from suffering from any of these diseases.

Mosquitoes are the known carrier for these types of disease and Interceptor should be given within one month of the dog's first exposure to mosquitoes and monthly thereafter until the end of the mosquito season.

Interceptor For Dogs can only be prescribed by your veterinarian and comes in four different packages according to the weight of you puppy or dog. The varying weight schedule is 2 to 20 pounds, 11 to 25 pounds, 26 to 50 pounds, and 51 to 100 pounds. If your dog weighs over 100 pounds they will receive a combination of the above weight categories to ensure protection.

Interceptor For Dogs has added flavor so your dog will enjoy taking the medication without having to fight them once a month. They will love the flavor and will take the pill very easily. The medication should not be given to puppies under 4 weeks of age and weighing less than 2 pounds.

Before you start giving your dog Interceptor he should be tested for heartworms. If he does have heartworms he should be treated to remove them prior to beginning treatment with Interceptor, which is an excellent Heartworm preventative. Some dogs that may have heartworms when they begin this treatment may have the following problems, labored breathing, vomiting, salivation and lethargy. This is brought on from the dying or dead larvae stage of the heartworm.

As with all types of medication there are side effects that may occur. The side effects that have been reported with the use of Interceptor for dogs are depression or lethargy, vomiting, ataxia, anorexia, diarrhea, convulsions, weakness and hyper-salivation.

If you have any concerns about the treatment of heartworms with Interceptor you should discuss them with your veterinarian.
