What is Adequan used for?
Adequan Canine is recommended for intramuscular injection for the
control of signs associated with non-infectious degenerative and/or
traumatic arthritis of canine synovial joints.
Availability
Adequan Canine is a prescription medication available as 100mg/
ml multi-dose vial.
How should Adequan be used?
Adequan Canine is FDA approved for use in veterinary medicine. The
usual dose in dogs is 2mg/ lb by intramuscular injection only, twice
a week for up to 4 weeks. Do not exceed the recommended dose or
therapeutic regimen. Do not mix Adequan Canine with other drugs
or solvents.
What are the side effects
Side effects that may occur include transient pain at the site of
the injection, transient diarrhea, and abnormal bleeding.
What special precautions are there
This medication should not be used in dogs allergic to it. Do not
use in dogs with known or suspected bleeding disorders. Studies
